Coasters...
This introductory course is recommended for people who have no previous experience of working with glass. You do not need to consider yourself as being "artistic"! Before we begin I will run through basic health and safety requirements. I will help you to design a pair of glass coasters which you will put in the kiln at the end of the session and collect once they have been fired.
I will show you how to cut glass safely and give you the confidence you need to implement your designs. You will be able to work with sheet glass, frits (small pieces of glass), powders and inclusions.
The course also forms the first class of the Introduction to Glass Forming course which comprises a total of 10 sessions the last 9 of which can be undertaken if you decide that you want to take your new skills further.
